Ole Miss announces team captains for South Carolina game

No. 7 Ole Miss will take on visiting South Carolina in Week 9. Leading up to the SEC clash, Ole Miss announced its team captains.

The captains are sophomore defensive end Kam Franklin, junior offensive lineman Patrick Kutas, senior wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling, and sophomore defensive tackle Will Echoles.

The 6-foot-5 Franklin has recorded 21 solo tackles along with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season. In his freshman campaign, Franklin had 11 total tackles with 2.5 sacks for Ole Miss. The Mississippi native was the No. 4 in-state prospect and No. 23 defensive lineman nationally coming out of high school, according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-5 Kutas is in his first season with Ole Miss after transferring from Arkansas. Kutas has made an impact for an Ole Miss offense which is 19th nationally in points per game (37.0). While at Arkansas, Kutas played in 26 games and made 13 starts.

The 6-foot-2 Stribling has caught 23 passes for 337 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first season at Ole Miss. Stribling transferred to Ole Miss after spending his first 2 seasons with Washington State and the last 2 years with Oklahoma State. Overall, Stribling has recorded 184 receptions for 2,490 yards and 19 touchdowns during his college career.

The 6-foot-3 Echoles has notched 16 solo tackles and 3 sacks this season. As a freshman, Echoles had 9 total tackles for the Rebels.
