Ole Miss entered Saturday looking to bounce back from the loss to Texas when they hosted the Auburn Tigers in Oxford. The Rebels took an early 7-0 lead in the game as defensive tackle Will Echoles finished off a 17-play, 89-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run.

In the second quarter, the Tigers were able to cut the deficit to 7-6 on a Byrum Brown 21-yard pass to Chas Nimrod.

However, as the Tigers went to tie the game up, the Rebels were able to get the block and nearly took it back for two points.

The Tigers are looking to pull a second consecutive upset on the road in SEC play, as they knocked off No. 1 Georgia two weeks ago. As explosive as the Ole Miss offense is, the Tigers can’t leave any points on the field

After the loss to Ole Miss, the Rebels have seen their margin for error disappear when it comes to making a run in the SEC and the College Football Playoff. With a huge home game next week against Georgia, this is a game the Rebels have to win to keep pace with other teams across the country.
