Ole Miss lands transfer commitment from standout Baylor LB

Ole Miss is making big moves on the opening weekend of the transfer portal.

Keaton Thomas has been a bit of a journeyman in his career. The standout Baylor transfer has decided on Ole Miss for his 4th school.

Thomas heads to Oxford to play for Pete Golding after 2 seasons with Dave Aranda at Baylor. Prior to Baylor, Thomas played at Northeast Mississippi Community College and West Virginia.

In 2024, Thomas logged 114 total tackles with 7 for loss, including 2.5 sacks, and 1 interception. This past season, he recorded 105 total tackles with 7 TFLs and 1 sacks. His passes defended increased to 4, with another interception. Thomas also had a fumble recovery in 2025.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Thomas has some ‘Sip familiarity. He had a standout season at Northeast Mississippi CC in 2023. He was a JUCO All-American, totaling 107 tackles (an average of 11.9 per game), including 10 for a loss, with 1.5 sacks, on the season. He added 2 interceptions and 2 pass break-ups.

Thomas began his college football career at West Virginia in 2022 as a defensive back. He redshirted that season.
