Ole Miss quarterback Deuce Knight was looked at as the quarterback of the future for Auburn. The former 5-star recruit played with Auburn last season, but he decided to transfer this offseason.

On Saturday, he was able to exact some revenge on Auburn, as he scored a late 17-yard touchdown in the Rebels’ 45-15 win.

Knight played in two games last year, and started one. During that start against Mercer, he showcased everything that Tigers’ fans had hoped for. He threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 162 yards and four scores.

However, when Alex Golesh became the coach at Auburn, he brought in his quarterback at USF, Byrum Brown.

The fact that Knight transferred to Ole Miss even though Trinidad Chambliss was coming back showed that he sees the fit with Ole Miss as something very beneficial in the future.

While he was in the game due to the blowout, Knight has a chance to score more meaningful touchdowns in the future in Oxford.

With the win, the Rebels moved to 6-2 on the season and remain in control of their College Football Playoff dreams. Up next, though, is a huge home game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
