Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze confirmed Monday that star defensive back Tony Conner tore his meniscus against Alabama and is out for an extended period:
Freeze says Ole Miss will be without Tony Conner for about four weeks with meniscus tear/surgery. Big blow.

Conner’s a preseason All-American and one of four Rebels expected to be drafted in the first round next season.
He posted a team-best nine tackles-for-loss last season and had 10 stops overall through his first three games this fall.
Conner’s the second Ole Miss starter the Rebels have lost in as many weeks. Defensive tackle Issac Gross is out for the season with a neck injury.
