Ole Miss star recognized among college football’s fastest players in Week 1

Running back Kewan Lacy played a massive role in Ole Miss‘ 63-7 rout vs. Georgia State, rushing for 108 yards and 3 touchdowns. One of Lacy’s touchdowns in particular showcased his blazing speed.
Lacy’s 42-yard score in the third quarter was clocked at 20.5 MPH according to Reel Analytics. That ranks as the No. 7 fastest run of Week 1.
Lacy’s first score was a 1-yard run that extended Ole Miss’ lead to 17-0. With 21 seconds left in the first half, Lacy reached the end zone from 2 yards out.
The 5-foot-11 sophomore is a transfer from Missouri. Last season with the Tigers he amassed 104 yards on 23 carries, along with 2 receptions for 9 yards. The Dallas native was ranked as the No. 18 running back in the transfer portal.
Ole Miss jumped up a spot to No. 20 after the blowout victory. The Rebels begin their SEC slate on Saturday with a road matchup at Kentucky (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC). Kentucky is coming off a 24-16 home victory vs. Toledo.
Ole Miss leads the all-time series 30-15-1 vs. Kentucky. However, Kentucky won last season’s matchup 20-17 in Oxford to snap a 3-game skid vs. the Rebels.
