The Ole Miss Rebels have been playing college football since 1893, with 3 national championships and unbeaten seasons in 1960 and 1962. But the Rebels had never won 11 games in a season before 2025.

Ole Miss locked up the winningest season in school history Friday, thumping Mississippi State 38-19 in the 122nd Egg Bowl to lock up an 11-1 campaign. Those 11 wins are the most in the 132 seasons of football in Oxford and have the Rebels as a virtual lock to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff for the first time.

No. 7 Ole Miss (11-1) still has a chance to play in the SEC Championship Game but would need a Texas victory against Texas A&M on Friday and then an Auburn victory against Alabama on Saturday to send the Rebels to Atlanta on Dec. 6. The Rebels’ lone loss this season came Oct. 18 at No. 8 Georgia, a 43-35 setback.

Ole Miss claims the 1959, 1960 and 1962 national championships. The 1959 Rebels went 10-1 and were No. 1 according to Berryman, Billingsley, Dunkel and Sagarin. The 1960 Rebels went 10-0-1 and shared the national title with Minnesota. And the 1962 Rebels went 10-0 and were No. 1 according to Billingsley, Litkenhous and Sagarin.

Ole Miss finished 11-2 in 2023 after winning the Peach Bowl – the only season in Rebels history with 11 games counting the postseason.
