If South Carolina loses to North Carolina tonight in Charlotte, it could spell doom for Steve Spurrier’s future.

Paul Finebaum made a strong case for that notion during a live pre-game take Thursday afternoon from Bank of America Stadium alongside college football analysts Danny Kanell and Joey Galloway.

โ€œI think tonight is one of the most important games in Steve Spurrierโ€™s career,โ€ Finebaum said. โ€œIf this one goes the same way last year did in Columbia, I think a lot of people in Columbia and around South Carolina football will start asking the question that he tried to knock down all year long.

โ€œIs he too old? Tonight is a must-win for Steve Spurrier.โ€

Kanell scoffed at the notion.

โ€œTo me it doesnโ€™t make any sense whatsoever,โ€ Kanell said. โ€œI think heโ€™s got plenty left. The way he coaches, he can delegate and do it for as long as he wants.โ€

Countdown to kickoff has begun.
