The biggest game on the SEC schedule for Week 9 is undoubtedly the top-25 rivalry showdown between the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 17 Florida Gators inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Kirby Smart and the Dawgs will be looking to get back in the win column after suffering a head-scratching loss to the Auburn Tigers a couple of weeks ago, their first loss of the campaign and first loss to Auburn in nearly a decade.

Coming off a bye week, Smart and his team are chomping at the bit to get back to some physical football, leading SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum to issue a stern warning for the Gators during SEC Nation on Saturday morning.

“I don’t have any doubt that Georgia is going to respond,” Finebaum said. “Kirby Smart is the best coach in the country on his worst day… A ticked off Kirby Smart is like a dangerous gator, and I have faced gators before. I don’t want to see a gator in front of me with it’s mouth open, and I don’t want to see Kirby Smart pissed off.”

If there’s one thing Smart has proven he knows how to do, it’s bounce back after a regular-season loss. The Bulldogs’ head coach is an perfect 9-0 in games immediately following a regular-season defeat during his tenure in Athens, with several of those victories coming in blowout fashion.

Finebaum knows that history very well, and Jon Sumrall and the rest of the Gators would be wise to heed his warning if they want to snap their current losing streak against Georgia and pick up their first win in the rivalry since 2020.
