Paul Finebaum made an appearance on KJM Tuesday to discuss Bryce Young’s shoulder injury he suffered against Arkansas.
The Crimson Tide came out on top against Arkansas behind the talent of Jahmyr Gibbs, but the potential ramifications of Young’s injury are… worrisome to say the least.
Finebaum agrees.
โItโs a problem. He has an AC joint sprainโฆIt affects his throw,โ said Finebaum. โI mean Bryce Youngโs the best passer in the country. Itโs going to affect him.โ
Jalen Milroe played well in Young’s absence as an emergency option, but he is far from a finished product. Finebaum is concerned about the potential matchup of Milroe vs. Hendon Hooker.
โIt wonโt matter this week. Again, Alabama is a three and a half touchdown favorite over A&MโฆBut, next week, it will matter,โ Finebaum said. โAlabama goes to Knoxville and theyโll play probably the most offensively explosive team in the country withย Hendon Hooker. They could lose that game. Thatโs not a bold statement.ย Jalen Milroeย is the backup. Heโs amazing and he won the game for Alabama SaturdayโฆHeโs big, but heโs not a great passer. You get into a passing duel, a scoring duel with Josh Heupel atย Tennessee? Youโre probably going to lose. Thatโs really the biggest concern.โ
