There’s a pretty big matchup set to kick off later tonight down in Athens, Georgia, between the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide, and the eyes of the entire nation will be on the heavyweight bout between these 2 SEC powerhouses.
One city in particular that will have a very vested interest in the outcome of this Week 5 clash down south is, surprisingly enough, Philadelphia, home of the reigning Super Bowl Champions.
The Eagles fought their way to the mountain top in the NFL last season, and they did so thanks in no small part to the large amount of former Georgia and Alabama stars littered throughout their roster.
Philly has Dawg and Tide alumni starting at every single level of their offense and defense, and this means that their locker room cares about who ends up winning this monster Week 5 game than any other locker room in the league.
The Eagles’ social media team is very aware of this fact, and went around to some of their biggest stars and asked them who their picks were for the big game.
Unsurprisingly, the former Georgia and Alabama players all sided with their respective alma maters, but other stars, like former Penn State star running back Saquon Barkley and Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean, picked the Dawgs to come out on top.
Regardless of who each Eagle picked to win, they will all certainly have their eyes glued to the TV like the rest of the country to see whether or not Georgia and Bama can top their all-time classic from last season.
