Georgia entered the 2016 season very young on the defensive line, but sophomore Trenton Thompson has emerged as a force at defensive tackle.

With 26 total tackles on the year, Thompson is in the top 20 among conference defenders. According to analytic website Pro Football Focus, Thompson is excelling this season in run defense.

Thompson could be in line to boost those stats in Week 6. The Bulldogs face South Carolina on Sunday, and the Gamecocks have the worst rushing offense in the conference, averaging only 104.8 yards per game on the ground.
