Georgia had not lost consecutive games since 2018. As a near-3-score favorite on Saturday between the hedges, very few expected the 12th-ranked Bulldogs to find themselves in danger of ending that streak against the Wildcats. Still, stranger things have happened against Kentucky in recent seasons.

There was nothing strange about Saturday’s performance. Georgia (4-1, 2-1 SEC) dominated from start to finish to beat Kentucky (2-3, 0-3) 35-14 and extend its winning streak in the all-time series to 16 games.

The 0-3 start to league play is Kentucky’s worst conference start since 2019.

Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton threw an interception — 1 of 2 Georgia turnovers on the day — but otherwise had a strong outing. He completed 15 of his 23 passes for 196 yards, ran 6 times for 48 yards, and scored 3 total touchdowns. Wideout Dillon Bell brought in 4 receptions for 68 yards and scored 2 short rushing touchdowns.

The Dawgs had a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to a pair of rushing scores from Stockton. After Kentucky cut the lead to just one score early in the second, Georgia used a 21-0 run across the rest of the frame and the entire third to ice the game.

Following its touchdown drive — a 4-play, 75-yarder that featured a 38-yard play from Cutter Boley to Kendrick Law and then a 29-yard strike from Boley to Josh Kattus — Kentucky failed to produce points on each of its next 7 possessions.

The Wildcats immediately followed up the score with a pair of 3-and-outs. Then they missed a field goal on the final play of the first half to end a 12-play, 57-yard drive with nothing to show for it. They fumbled on their first possession of the third quarter and threw a pick late in the fourth that abruptly ended a 20-play, 8-plus-minute drive.

Kentucky has a bye week to get ready for Texas on Oct. 18.

Georgia travels to The Plains next to face Auburn on Oct. 11.
