Rapid Reaction: South Carolina crushes Kentucky to earn first SEC win in 2025
South Carolina earned its first SEC win of the season on Saturday night, beating Kentucky 35-13 in Columbia.
The Gamecocks were much-improved on offense in this game, but still got plenty of contributions from their defense and special teams. South Carolina scored two more non-offensive touchdowns in this game, bringing its season total to 6.
Despite not finding the end zone, this was the most efficient game of the year so far for LaNorris Sellers. He completed 11-of-14 passes for 153 yards. He also rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries.
All 3 of South Carolina’s offensive touchdowns came on the ground. Matthew Fuller found the end zone once and Rahsul Faison got there twice.
As for Kentucky, it was a tough game for the Wildcats on both sides of the ball. In addition to costly turnovers, Kentucky averaged just 3.9 yards per play on offense. Quarterback Cutter Boley threw 2 interceptions and had just 124 passing yards on 19 attempts.
South Carolina will be idle in Week 6 before facing LSU on the road on Oct. 11.
