Reed Sheppard will not be in Rupp Arena for the much-anticipated return of his former head coach, John Calipari. That’s because the former Kentucky star will be playing for the Houston Rockets on Saturday night as Calipari leads Arkansas into Lexington.

However, Sheppard sent a message with his pre-game outfit as he was arriving for Saturday’s game in Houston. And it’s one that will undoubtedly receive a critical reaction from fans.

Entering the Rocekts’ arena, Sheppard was seen wearing an Arkansas basketball shirt with a pair of blue UK basketball shorts. He is clearly trying to straddle the line between supporting his former team and his former head coach, but it will be interesting to see if fans feel some kind of way about the selection.

Kentucky is still listed as a 9-point favorite at bet365 as we close in on tipoff, and fans can check out the bet365 bonus code KY for the best offers.

On the one hand, Sheppard starred for the Wildcats under Calipari and is likely wanting to show appreciation for his former coach. But many fans likely remember that Calipari was set to get another chance leading Kentucky this season before he jumped to take the Arkansas head coaching job.

We’ll see how fans feel about Sheppard’s selection — and John Calipari’s first game back in Rupp Arena — shortly.
