Mark Thompson isn’t the only Florida running back who didn’t accompany the team to Jacksonville for its SEC East showdown with Georgia.
Sophomore Jordan Cronkrite will reportedly miss the contest as well, though the reason is currently unclear. Thompson, a junior, isn’t with the team because of a marijuana possession citation, according to reports.

As expected, no #Gators RB Mark Thompson at Gator Walk. Also, RB Jordan Cronkrite did not travel w/ the team (as I reported Friday on ITG).

Thompson (57 carries, 262 yards, one touchdown) and Cronkrite (26 carries, 112 yards, one touchdown) were vital members of Florida’s running back committee that has totaled more than 1,000 yards this season. In their absence, the Gators will rely on sophomore Jordan Scarlett and freshman Lamical Perine, the team’s two leading rushers.
It was later reported that Cronkrite’s absence is due to an undisclosed injury.
