Report: Ed Orgeron reveals who will serve as LSU’s punt returner this fall

One of the final position battles remaining in LSU camp was at punt returner, where the Tigers were looking for an impact player.
Now, the search is over, as coach Ed Orgeron revealed his decision on Wednesday during his weekly radio show.
According to NOLA.com, Coach O said that junior DB Donte Jackson will serve as the team’s primary punt returner.
Jackson, a track star and cornerback, has some experience as a kick returner, but hasn’t returned punts yet. He said he’s excited for the opportunity:
“I can’t wait,” Jackson told NOLA.com a week ago. “I can’t wait. I feel like something special is going to happen every time I see the ball coming my way if I’m at corner, punt return or kick return. I feel like I can make something happen any time I get a chance to get the ball.”
If Jackson gets some open space, there aren’t many people in the SEC (or anywhere else, in that matter) who will be able to catch him.
