Published:

Former LSU QB Danny Etling was trying to catch on with the Atlanta Falcons this season after spending 2019 alternating between the team’s 53-man roster and practice squad.

However, a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list may have harmed his chances, as it was reported on Monday that the Falcons had released him.

As you can see below, ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the news on Twitter:

Atlanta has 3 quarterbacks currently on its roster — starter Matt Ryan, veteran Matt Schaub and third-year player Kurt Benkert.

Etling also spent time with the New England Patriots after he was a Round 7 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Now, he’ll try to find a new squad before the start of the 2020 season.
