The University of Georgia football and basketball staffs were each limited in their recruiting contacts for a week due to separate NCAA secondary violations, according to the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer.

An unnamed football coach had an impermissible phone call to a recruit outside the contact period on February 20, and the unidentified coach received an 11-day ban from receiving calls or texting recruits.

Furthermore, the entire football staff couldn’t call any recruits for a week.

With respect to basketball, an assistant committed a violation due to public communication on social media with a recruit on April 28. The unnamed coach couldn’t have any contact with recruits for 2 weeks, and the basketball staff couldn’t have any written or electronic communication with recruits for a week.

All total, UGA reported 5 Level III secondary violations. The other 3 belonged to soccer (2) and golf (1).
