Report: Ivy League considering spring football season amid COVID-19 pandemic

As we continue to navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, college football conferences have many contingency plans under consideration.
Over in the Ivy League, there are a couple of ideas being discussed. One would involve a 7-game, Ivy League-only season this fall.
The other, according to Mark Blaudschun of TMG Sports, would involve moving the season to next spring:
The second plan, which is gaining momentum because of the increasing number of positive Covid-19 cases in the country, would shut down football until next spring, with a start up (for practice) in March and another 7-game (conference opponents only) beginning in April and concluding in mid-May.
The Ivy League — an FCS division — only plays 10 games in the regular season and doesn’t have a conference championship game.
With COVID-19 cases on the rise in many states, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Ivy League go through with this play. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks.
