The Auburn Tigers aren’t playing this postseason as they self-imposed a 1-year ban.
Now, they’re waiting to see if star PG Sharife Cooper will return for another season or head to the 2021 NBA Draft.
But, on Tuesday, a report surfaced from Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten that fellow freshman Justin Powell was expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal:
BREAKING: Auburn’s Justin Powell is expected to enter the transfer portal this week, a source told @Stockrisers. Powell, averaged 11.7 points, 6.1 boards, and 4.7 assists in 10 games.
Instantly becomes one of the top-available transfers when he hits the portal.

That caught many by surprise, as Powell was a solid player in limited action this year. Before missing the rest of the season with an injury, Powell appeared in 10 games, averaging an impressive 11.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but if he does leave Auburn, it’s a big loss for the Tigers.
