Hurricane Marco might be able to close LSU campus, but it can’t stop Tigers football practice.

Brooks Kubena of The Advocate, citing an athletics department spokesperson, reports that LSU’s in-season sports, such as football, will be able to practice despite a campus closure on Monday. If Monday’s practice is eventually canceled, however, Ed Orgeron’s squad should not have much trouble finding time to make it up on a different day. LSU is allowed 20 hours of practice per week. Per Kubena, the fall camp schedule has been for full practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with Thursday designated as a meetings-only day. The team practices again on Friday morning and has the weekend off.

Unfortunately, with Tropical Storm Laura also currently tracked to potentially impact Louisiana later in the week, LSU could be dealing with another campus closure and potential practice interruption.

Marco is projected as a Category 1 storm when it makes landfall in Louisiana on Monday. Laura is projected to be a Category 2 when it reaches the Louisiana-Texas area early Thursday.
