Thanks to a $1 million donation from former star DB Tyrann Mathieu, the LSU Tigers are renovating their players’ lounge.
The current Arizona Cardinals star was a force during his time in Baton Rouge, recording 133 tackles (16 for a loss), six sacks, four interception, 11 forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries in his two short years with the program (2010 and 2011).
According to The Advocate, the LSU Board of Supervisors will vote to approve the renaming of the lounge during a meeting on Friday.
Mathieu and fellow Arizona Cardinals star Patrick Peterson each made $1 million donations to their school, with the LSU weight room bearing Peterson’s name and the new players’ lounge set to bear the Honey Badger’s name.
Mathieu and Peterson will help the Cardinals kick off their 2017 season on Sunday, Sept. 10, against the Detroit Lions.
