Ole Miss junior offensive lineman Roderick Taylor was arrested for allegedly shoplifting two bags of charcoal on Sunday.

According to Daniel Paulling of The Clarion-Ledger, Taylor had the bags in a basket under his shopping cart, but a source told Paulling that he didn’t pay for them as he went through a self-checkout line.

Coach Hugh Freeze released a statement on the matter.

โ€œWe are gathering facts on the matter, and if appropriate, we will address it accordingly with Rod internally,โ€ Freeze said, as reported byย Paulling.

Last season, Taylor appeared in 10 games before finishing as left tackle Laremy Tunsil’s backup at the position. He’s currently recovering from a shoulderย injury that required offseason surgery and has kept him out of spring practice.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pounder is expected to compete for a starting spot on the Ole Miss offensive line this season.
