Ryan Coleman-Williams to wear gloves vs. Florida State amid drop issues

Ryan Coleman-Williams dealt with drop issues for much of last season, and that led to him deciding that he wouldn’t be wearing gloves for the 2026 season.
However, the drop issues have remained in 2026, especially in a Week 1 game against East Carolina, where he had multiple drops on big plays.
He is looking for anything to get things going back on the right track for him, and he appears to be ready to go back to the gloves in Week 3. Here’s a clip of him in pre-game warmups:

He burst onto the scene as a 17-year old freshman, as he had 48 catches for 865 yards and four touchdowns. While he had the same number of catches, he wasn’t near the big-play receiver he was two years ago, and drops played a huge role in that.
The Crimson Tide are starting a freshman quarterback, Keelon Russell, and he needs his most talented receivers to step up and make the plays. It is clear that there is a confidence issue, and that Coleman-Williams is looking for anything to get things back on track. If Alabama is going to end up having the season that Crimson Tide fans want, then Coleman-Williams is going to have to make big plays.
