New LSU head coach Lane Kiffin has been hard at work putting together his roster in Baton Rouge over the past month or so, and he finally landed the most important piece to that puzzle on Monday night.
According to LSU, former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt has officially signed with the Tigers for the 2026 season, becoming the next star gunslinger to take the reins in Kiffin’s high-octane offensive system.
Leavitt committed to the Bayou Bengals earlier in the day, but there was some speculation over whether or not he would make things official with LSU as there were other programs still in the mix.
All of that has been put to rest now, though, as Leavitt has officially signed on the dotted line meaning that he will be the man under center for Kiffin and the Tigers under the lights in Death Valley for 2026.
Leavitt burst onto the scene with the Sun Devils in 2024, racking up 3,228 total yards and 29 total touchdowns while leading ASU to a Big 12 title and their first CFP appearance in program history.
The Sun Devils took a step back in 2025 due in large part to Leavitt being limited to just 7 starts thanks to a lingering injury, but he was still very productive when he was on the field, putting up 1,934 total yards and 15 total touchdowns.
