Arkansas took a major blow on Saturday as tight end Luke Hasz suffered a broken clavicle that will likely sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Hasz has recorded 253 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season and was emerging as one of the top offensive weapons for the Razorbacks.

Now, Arkansas will have to find a replacement for Hasz as he works his way back from the injury. But Pittman feels confident even after such a tough break, and he is comfortable with all of the options Arkansas can go to at tight end.

“You know, sometimes opportunity, we find out more about a guy than obviously if heโ€™s standing over on the sidelines,” Pittman said during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “Iโ€™m very comfortable with the tight ends that we have. Will we change some? We might because we always do a little bit just trying to attack the defense that weโ€™re getting ready to play. Very comfortable with how itโ€™s gone the first 2 days. After weโ€™ve looked at all the tape and all those type things, and then weโ€™ll have a plan on how to do it. That competition at least for that game will be over throughout the weekโ€™s work and then go from there.”

It will be a tough first game for whoever ends up being the starting tight end for Arkansas as the Razorbacks take on Ole Miss, who is riding the wave of a huge win over LSU last week.

A signature win for Arkansas would be huge in regaining control of its season after losing 3 straight, but a loss would be just another blow in a tough stretch of games.
