Former Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry can do it all and is a step above players at his position in recent years.
That’s according to one NFL scout, who had some high praise for Henry while speaking with New Jersey Advance Media.
“He’s the most complete tight end to come out in years. He’s a legitimate first-round pick,” the scout said. “You have had so many tight ends who were nothing more than big wide receivers. This kid is a complete tight end. He can catch, he can run and he can block.”
Many outlets at least have Henry as the top tight end in this year’s NFL Draft, which begins April 28, and that’s obviously not a stretch for the 2015 John Mackey Award winner (nation’s top tight end).
CBS Sports has the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder as a second-round pick and the 52nd overall prospect. NFL.com has him comparable to former Vol and future Hall of Famer Jason Witten.
Another scout says he lacks Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert’s receiving skills, but he likes his blocking “much better.”
Henry finished up his 2015 First-Team All-American campaign with 51 catches, 739 yards and 3 TDs.
