Jonathan Williams is out for at least the regular season due to a broken foot.
The would-be senior has to be upset after entering preseason camp looking like one of the SEC’s top running backs on a resurgent Arkansas team.
Perhaps sensing that frustration, new SEC commissioner Greg Sankey went old-school in writing Williams a note by hand, which Williams then shared on Twitter:
My commissioner > yours. Thank you @GregSankey pic.twitter.com/6J2ZYrcPnL
— Jonathan Williams (@Jwillpart2) August 28, 2015
The note is a classy gesture. Williams, unless he elects to play in a potential bowl game for Arkansas or returns to Fayetteville in 2016 after a medical redshirt, will never play a down of SEC football with Sankey as commissioner.
Assuming a full recovery, NFL scouts will be paying very close attention to Williams starting near Christmastime.
