On Wednesday, the Mountain West Conference announced it would be canceling its in-person Media Days scheduled for July 16-17 and instead hold virtual media days.

That prompted some to wonder if the SEC and other major conferences would soon follow suit.

On “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said the conference is still planning to host in-person media days (in Atlanta), but nothing is certain at the moment:

Obviously, a lot has to change if in-person events like Media Days are going to take place this summer.

We’ll likely find out over the next month or so if other conferences decide to follow in the Mountain West’s footsteps and host virtual media days.
