SEC drops intense Florida-Georgia Week video to get fans hyped for rivalry matchup
The SEC wasn’t playing favorites on Friday afternoon when it released a 1-minute, 29-second hype video that featured highlights of both Florida and Georgia as the longtime rivals get ready to meet on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta.
So, this wasn’t a Georgia-centric hype video, and it didn’t come with a Florida slant either. This was the SEC doing its part to get both passionate fan bases ready for the latest chapter of an annual midseason rivalry that usually delivers riveting games and always delivers supreme talent on both sides.
This year will be no different, as the 17th-ranked Gators (5-2, 3-2 SEC) and third-ranked Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 SEC) will take their show indoors this year, to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta instead of at the usual outdoor backdrop in Jacksonville. Kickoff will be at shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET, with the matchup getting its usual national TV treatment, this time on ABC.
Georgia is a double-digit favorite, is the program that’s going for 3 straight SEC championships and has won 5 in a row in the rivalry dating back to 2021.
But because it’s a rivalry game, expect anything. The Bulldogs showed they are beatable a few weeks ago, losing at home to Auburn when they were No. 1 in the country, while the Gators showed they are resilient, bouncing back a few weeks ago with a monster upset win at Texas.
Both teams enjoyed a bye last week and should be fresh and ready to resume the neutral-site rivalry that is a staple of this time of year.
With all of that as a backdrop, here is the highlight reel featuring both programs that the SEC released on the eve of the latest installment of the rivalry:
Will Georgia bounce back from that Auburn loss and beat Florida for the 6th straight time?
Or will the heavy underdog Gators finally break through against the Bulldogs and show that in rivalry games anything is possible?
We’ll know by early evening on Halloween, and the SEC was there on Friday with this video to get both fan bases properly pumped for the indoor showdown.
