SEC, LSU’s federal court hearing continued, will be scheduled at later date

A federal court hearing involving LSU and the SEC was scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. as the SEC essentially looks for permission to enforce its rules against former professional players re-entering college athletics. LSU, of course, is at the forefront of the eligibility drama that has demanded the attention of college football media and fans around the country.
As mentioned in the tweet below, the situation has mostly de-escalated as LSU made the decision prior to Week 1 not to roster players like Zxavian Harris and Dae’Quan Wright, who committed to the program late in the offseason. LSU re-affirmed that stance Tuesday night when it reached the 105-player roster limit without Wright or Harris on the roster.
On Wednesday, the court hearing scheduled for Wednesday was continued and will be rescheduled at a later date.
It has been a whirlwind the last few months for LSU, starting with the firing of Brian Kelly to the eventual hiring of Lane Kiffin. In Week 1, the Tigers were finally able to just go out there and play football, and they looked outstanding in a 51-10 victory over Clemson.
With the season rolling and the Tigers no longer set to bring in these players, this is a situation that may finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and some resolution in the near future.
