The SEC schedule continues to heat up as the calendar turns to October, and that only means that each week takes on added importance for the league’s respective programs.
With another loaded slate of games on the docket for Week 7, SEC Network’s ‘SEC Nation’ announced that it would be paying a visit to Columbia, Mo. for Missouri‘s ranked clash with Alabama.
Marty Smith and Ryan McGhee will get things started with ‘Marty & McGhee’ at 9 a.m. EST, while Jordan Rodgers, Tim Tebow, Laura Rutledge, Paul Finebaum and Roman Harper take center stage at 10 a.m. EST. The game will follow right after at noon ET.
With both teams unbeaten in conference play and eyeing College Football Playoff berths, a matchup between the Tigers and Crimson Tide hasn’t carried this level of importance since the teams met in the 2014 SEC Championship Game. That matchup ended in a 42-13 Alabama victory, a lopsided margin that is not expected to be seen when these teams meet again Saturday.
The Tide are 6-2 all-time against these Tigers, with them having won the last six editions of the series. Since Missouri joined the SEC, these teams have met five times, with this being the third clash in Columbia.
It’s also worth noting that this is the final leg of Mizzou’s six-game homestand to start the season.
