The SEC West has a stranglehold on the power rankings through Week 4.
Georgia is the only SEC East team ranked in the top six after Saturday, and the Bulldogs aren’t even ranked in the top two. That feat belongs to LSU and Ole Miss, as the Tigers jumped the Rebels for the league’s most impressive team.

Vanderbilt fought hard against Ole Miss, but the Commodores just don’t know how to win a close game yet. However, one thing is for sure – the Dores’ defense will at least keep them in games…South Carolina got a much-needed win against UCF Saturday, but it sure wasn’t pretty. It looks like Lorenzo Nunez can give the offense a spark.

10. Kentucky Wildcats (+1)
Missouri is this week’s biggest faller, moving down three spots after losing to Kentucky on the road. The Tigers have issues at quarterback and in the running game, and they must get fixed before Saturday’s game against South Carolina…Despite losing, Arkansas jumped up one spot this week, but a bowl bowl is very much in jeopardy with such a brutal schedule…Kentucky’s right where it needs to be after four games: 3-1. The Cats are on their way to a bowl berth.

7. Florida Gators (+3)
Auburn dropped another spot this week after its loss against Mississippi State. The Tigers didn’t score an offensive touchdown the entire game, but Sean White at least has the offense moving in the right direction…Tennessee’s heartbreaking loss drops the Vols two spots this week to No. 8. There’s plenty of talent, but questions are being asked about Butch Jones’ ability to coach in big games…Thanks to a come-from-behind victory against the Vols, Florida is this week’s biggest mover. The Gators jumped into the top 25 and all the way up to No. 7 in the power rankings. The Gators welcome Ole Miss to The Swamp Saturday.

Texas A&M dropped one spot after its overtime victory against Arkansas, but that had more to do with MSU than anything. The Aggies have now beaten rival Arkansas in overtime in back-to-back seasons, but the Arizona State win looks less impressive by the week…Mississippi State took care of business against Auburn Saturday night, and although it wasn’t pretty, it didn’t have to be. Just win, baby! Dak Prescott looked great, and it’s easy to tell Dan Mullen has complete faith in his quarterback…Alabama remain unchanged at No. 4 this week after beating UL-Monroe. However, things get real again this week with a road trip to Georgia.

Georgia dropped one spot after thumping Southern Saturday, but that everything to do with LSU moving up. The Bulldogs get their chance to show the college football world what they’re all about Saturday against Alabama…Ole Miss somewhat struggled in a trap game against Vanderbilt. Coming off an emotional win at Alabama and looking ahead to Florida nearly cost the Rebels, but this league is all about surviving…LSU jumped into the top spot this week after beating Syracuse on the road. Armed with college football’s best player in Leonard Fournette, timely passes from Brandon Harris will only make this team more dangerous. Watch out for LSU.
