Several SEC teams are in rebuild mode, and some of their rebuilds aren’t going exactly as planned.
On Wednesday, SEC Shorts released a new video featuring struggling teams confronting their rebuild contractor about being behind schedule. The video features Auburn, Arkansas and Florida taking up their issues with the contractor.
Florida was upset at the lack of growth in Year 2 of the rebuild, complaining that they shouldn’t have to beat a top-15 team just to be bowl eligible.
“That is not the rebuild we agreed to,” Florida said. “It’s year 2 and we gotta hope to beat a top-15 team to make a bowl game. We just lost to Arkansas.”
And Arkansas’ character is mad about the offensive coordinator situation. The Razorbacks hired Dan Enos over the offseason and fired him before the season was over.
“We suck this year,” Arkansas said. “I had to file a warranty claim on that offensive coordinator that you installed this offseason that broke immediately.”
Auburn complained about having receivers that can’t catch, but the contractor claimed that the Tigers never requested receivers that can catch.
The contractor pleaded that the teams be more like Vanderbilt, who has been awful this season, but doesn’t complain about it.
“Why can’t you guys be more like Vanderbilt?” the contractor said. “He’s in Year 2 of the rebuild and he’s never been worse, but he’s cool with it.”
But Vanderbilt did have one complaint: the lack of progress on the stadium.
“Do you happen to have time to work on our scoreboard this week?” Vanderbilt said. “Maybe put it on a steel reinforced frame? It is still hanging from a crane in the air.”
The contractor offered hope to the teams. Auburn is on a 2-game winning streak, Florida has the No. 2 recruiting class and Arkansas just won in the Swamp for the first time in “ever.”
“You all need to just let us do our jobs,” the contractor said. “We got this.”
