TJ Finley has once again found a new home, and this time it resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with the Georgia State Panthers.

This is the 6th school of Finley’s college career. Finley has had stops at LSU, Auburn, Texas State, Tulane, and Western Kentucky, and now Finley lands in Georgia with the Panthers.

Finley’s college career started with the LSU Tigers in 2020, where he started 5 games as a freshman. After this season, he transferred to Auburn, where he sat behind Bo Nix. In the last three games of this season, Finley started and filled in for Nix, who was out with an injury. He was set to be the starting quarterback at Auburn in 2022 and appeared in four games before he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

After that season, Finley transferred to Texas State, where he started 13 games and threw for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns. After one season, Finley’s time at Texas State was over, and he transferred to become the quarterback at Western Kentucky. Similar to his other stops, Finley started only 3 games for Western Kentucky before he suffered an ankle injury, which sidelined him for the rest of the season.

Finley committed to Tulane for the 2025 season but was suspended indefinitely following his arrest in April 2025. Finley then re-entered the transfer portal, never playing a game for Tulane, and has now committed to play football at Georgia State for the 2025 season. That’s according to a report from CBS Sports:

Georgia State lost its season opener to No. 21 Ole Miss by a score of 63-7. Its next game will be against Memphis on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. ET.
