Signing Day surprise: Michigan flips 5-star Alabama commit

You don’t see this happen often to Alabama.

Five-star safety Daxton Hill flipped from Alabama to Michigan on Wednesday morning. Interestingly, Hill was committed to Michigan prior, and he flipped to Alabama December 8. On Wednesday, however, he signed with Michigan to surprise many around the country, even Wolverines fans.

Alabama did flip an elite Ohio State commit Wednesday morning.

Hill’s decommitment certainly knocks down Alabama’s class a bit, as the Tide were expected to sign its best recruiting class under Nick Saban.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native Hill is the nation’s top-ranked safety and the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite Rankings.
