Why?
Well, the ever-popular Sleeper Fantasy app is starting off Week 0 with a bang!
When reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans start their season against San Jose State on Saturday evening, all Williams has to do is throw for 1 yard and Sleeper users can win big!

What is Sleeper and why should college football fans care?
Sleeper is a daily fantasy sports app (DFS) backed by investors such as American venture capitalist firm Andreessen Horowitz and current and former NBA stars like Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Baron Davis.
Through Sleeper’s exciting picks platform, you can bundle a few selections of player prop picks, and you can put real money against those picks.
Sleeper DFS pick’em contests are legal in these 25 states: AK, AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MA, MN, NE, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, VT, WI and WY. The picks contests are also legal in Washington DC.
My picks for Week 0
Caleb Williams over 0.5 passing yards. This is discounted from 313.5 yards. So you can see how much Sleeper pick’em contest makers think of the reigning Heisman winner. Having him start the season with at least 1 passing yard is an absolute no-brainer. Accept this free square and let’s try to nail a couple of other picks correctly.
Sam Hartman over 238.5 passing yards. Hartman finished No. 7 in the nation at Wake Forest in 2022, averaging 308.4 passing yards per game. Navy’s pass defense isn’t as stout as many might expect it to be, either. Hartman didn’t come to Notre Dame to play conservatively. He came to win games and get his name in the Heisman race. Expect him to have a big Week 0 showing.
Audric Estime over 0.5 rushing touchdowns. I don’t know how much running room Estime will find against Navy’s defense, but he should be good for a big play or 2 and a handful of red-zone touches. I expect him to find the end zone on 1 of those touches, at least. Look for him to run it in for 6 against Navy in Ireland, sending the pro-Irish crowd into a frenzy.
How many picks should you make?
Sleeper uses a dynamic multiplier system for its pick’em contests. Some over/under picks have a higher multiplier than others based on how likely they are to occur within the course of the game.
Still, the general idea is that the more correct picks you make, the more money you can win in each contest!
My 3-leg contest would pay out $23 on a $5 entry if I’m correct, a 4.6x multiplier:
