Mississippi State was humbled in the Liberty Bowl on Tuesday, falling 34-7 to Texas Tech to see their season end at 7-6. The SEC remains winless in Bowl Season as it falls to 0-4.

Will Rogers connected with Rara Thomas for a touchdown early in the 2nd quarter as the Bulldogs found themselves down 10-0, and also broke Dak Prescott’s record for most offensive yards in a single season.

But it was basically all Red Raiders outside of that. They ran for 246 yards—the most the Bulldogs have given up on the ground this season—while outgaining them 512-334 as a late MSU garbage time drive made the final count a little more respectable.

The Bulldogs also turned the ball over 3 times, one coming on a muffed punt to set up a Texas Tech field goal just before the half. Rogers’ final passing yardage total was 285, his lowest of the year.

It was a woeful performance for Leach and the Bulldogs against the program he led for 10 seasons in the early 2000s before his firing. While he certainly had much to say leading up to the contest, the Red Raiders let their play on the field speak for themselves.

And there was plenty of reaction on Twitter during the latter stages of the contest:
