We finally have a kickoff time!
Mississippi State at South Carolina was supposed to start at 4:15 p.m. ET, but storms in the area pushed back the start time — and consistent lightning strikes made it difficult to determine and schedule an official updated kickoff. Now that storms are starting to move out of the area, South Carolina writers are reporting that Week 3’s game is set to kick off at 5:35 p.m. ET.
We’re going to learn a lot about both these teams on Saturday. South Carolina is facing its first real opponent of the season after beating Kent State and Towson to start the year. Mississippi State, on the other hand, beat UL Monroe and Minnesota leading up to Saturday’s SEC opener.
Week 3’s game pits 2 of the most exciting quarterbacks in college football against the other. Both Kamario Taylor and LaNorris Sellers are excellent athletes with impressive arms, looking to prove they should be considered among the upper echelon of SEC signal callers.
Mississippi State’s offense has shown promise to start the season behind Taylor, who has already thrown for 581 yards and 7 touchdowns with zero interceptions to start his 2026 campaign. Receiver Anthony Evans is responsible for a lot of Taylor’s connections, sitting at 239 yards with 2 receiving touchdowns.
Let’s see if the Gamecocks can slow the Bulldogs down.
