South Carolina announces sellout for Week 2 game

There’ll be a packed house this Saturday as South Carolina aims for a 2-0 start this season. The Gamecocks announced that their home game vs. Towson at Williams-Brice Stadium will be a sellout.
South Carolina is coming off a 57-0 shutout victory vs. visiting Kent State last week. Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers completed 19 of his 23 passes for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns. Two of Sellers’ touchdown passes went to Donovan Murph, who finished with a game-high 77 receiving yards. Jabree Coleman rushed for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns.

South Carolina’s defense held Kent State to 179 total yards. The Golden Flashes converted just 5 of their 14 3rd-down attempts.
Towson, an FCS program from the CAA, is off to an 0-2 start. The Tigers fell 21-18 vs. Maine in their opener and most recently lost 42-15 against Navy.
South Carolina is already halfway to their win total from last season, a disappointing 4-8 regression after going 9-4 in 2024. The Gamecocks haven’t won double digit games in a season since 2013.
This is the first-ever meeting between South Carolina and Towson. Towson at South Carolina will take place on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
