South Carolina assistant releases harrowing image of car following last month’s wreck
South Carolina Gamecocks defensive line coach Travian Robertson has been slowly getting back to basics following a car accident in late August. We already knew his crash was serious based on the multiple surgeries he underwent in its aftermath. But on Monday, we got a real glimpse into things via social media.
On Monday, Robertson released photos of his car, himself in his hospital bed and his children by his side on social media.
“A little over 5 weeks ago, my entire world shifted for me and for my family,” Robertson said in his post. “It’s hard to put into words how much has changed, but one thing I know for sure: I’m grateful beyond measure to still be here. To be breathing, healing, and able to share my story. Thank you God!”
Robertson has yet to coach a game this season, but has been involved with game planning for the past 3 weeks. He made an appearance at the Gamecocks’ practice facility back on Sept. 17.
Robertson’s defensive line put on a show for him in Week 5 versus Kentucky, notching 6 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. The position group hopes to do something similar when South Carolina travels to LSU on Oct. 11 after this week’s bye.
