Eric Douglas will do South Carolina’s Senior Day a second time. The Gamecock center will be using his extra year of eligibility to return in 2022.

“I’ll be getting another year,” Douglas said Sunday, per Hale McGranahan of The Big Spur. “I’ll be using my extra year. I’ll be coming back, building on to what we plan, how we play on finishing this year and building on to next year.”

The NCAA issued a blanket waiver that the 2020 season did not count against players’ 4 non-redshirt seasons of eligibility. Douglas was considered a redshirt senior in 2021, having joined the Gamecocks in 2017.

The Mallard Creek alum from Charlotte has played in 42 games over the last 4 seasons, including 23 starts.
