Malik Young will be the starter at left tackle for South Carolina when the Gamecocks face NC State in Week 1, according to his position coach.
Gamecock offensive line coach Eric Wolford confirmed on Tuesday that Young, who is 6-foot-3 and just over 300 pounds, will round out the starting five up front.

Young, who is now a redshirt junior, was battling for the starting spot with JUCO transfer Dennis Daley in camp.
Last season, Young played in every game and started nine. All of those starts came at right tackle. He moved to the left side in the spring.
The Gamecocks’ offensive line will most certainly be tested early, as NC State possesses one of the nation’s top defensive lines.
