During the second quarter of Saturday’s loss to Kentucky, South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch landed on his shoulder attempting to recover a fumble near the visiting sideline.
In noticeable pain favoring his shoulder, Mitch did not return. Steve Spurrier said at halftime that it looked like the redshirt sophomore had a sprained shoulder.
After the game, Spurrier confirmed that the injury was more severe than he originally thought and hinted that Mitch could be lost for the season:
Connor Mitch has a separated shoulder and is probably out of the season. #Gamecocks
