The well-traveled career of quarterback Air Noland is about to get another destination, as the South Carolina backup is reportedly hitting the transfer portal once again.
On3Sports reported Monday that Noland will be departing the Gamecocks after a single 2025 season that saw him appear in two games. Noland did not record a statistic in South Carolina’s 38-10 win against South Carolina State in September, and he went 2-for-3 for 13 yards and also added a 4-yard carry in a 51-7 victory over Coastal Carolina in November.
Noland redshirted his 2024 season at Ohio State, sitting behind Will Howard, Devin Brown, Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz. The possibility existed for Noland to take over the reins of the South Carolina offense in 2026 had LaNorris Sellers entered the NFL Draft, but Sellers instead decided to remain with the Gamecocks.
A native of College Park, Ga., the left-handed Noland will be a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining when he hits the portal Jan. 2. He was a 4-star recruit according to 247Sports Composite out of Langston Hughes HS, ranked as the seventh-best QB and ninth-best product out of Georgia in the 2024 class.
