The South Carolina football team might take a major hit on the recruiting trail. It is being reported by The State Columbia, South Carolina that Gamecocks recruit Jy’Vonta McClendon is reportedly facing felony charges after a road rage incident that took place in Florida.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Department, McClendon was arrested by the Lakeland Police Department on Nov. 28 for shooting into another car.

The recruit was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.

Also in the report, McClendon explained the reason why he did this was that he thought another woman was about to harm his mother but his intent was not to kill her but scare her.

McClendon is a 3-star safety out of Lakeland, Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite, and was also recruited by Auburn and Arkansas as well.
