South Carolina is slated to have its star quarterback back at the helm on Saturday night at Mizzou.

According to a report on Friday by CBS Sports, LaNorris Sellers has been cleared and is good to go for South Carolina in the primetime showdown at No. 23 Mizzou. Sellers was knocked out of last Saturday night’s game against Vanderbilt after a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit during the second quarter, and he missed the rest of the game as the Gamecocks lost 31-7.

Sellers was 6 of 7 for 94 yards and an interception before being injured, and backup Luke Doty couldn’t come to the rescue as South Carolina lost badly and fell out of the AP Top 25 the next day. Now, it appears that Shane Beamer‘s team will have its starter back as South Carolina heads to the other Columbia to face the unbeaten Tigers.

Sellers has thrown for 431 yards in 2-plus games this season, with 2 touchdown passes and 1 interception. He’s been held to 45 yards rushing with just 1 TD on the ground so far this season.

South Carolina is 2-1 on the young season and will be trying to bounce back against 3-0 Mizzou, with the teams kicking it off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. It’ll be the Tigers’ SEC opener, while the Gamecocks try to even their conference record after falling to Vandy in their SEC opener last week.
