South Carolina is trying its best to pull off a shocking upset over No. 5 Tennessee Saturday night. Tensions are certainly high in Williams-Brice Stadium.

During the third quarter of Saturday night’s game with South Carolina up 11 points, officials flagged the Gamecocks defense for a facemask penalty.

Well, that didn’t sit well with Carolina fans, as the student section threw trash — mostly bottles — on the field causing a brief stoppage in the game. Stadium workers had to run onto the field and clean up the trash before play resumed.

Thankfully, there were no mustard bottles or golf balls.

Early in the fourth quarter, South Carolina leads Tennessee 42-31.
