The giant poster on the West side of Williams-Brice Stadium is enough recognition for Steve Spurrier at South Carolina.

โ€œThey donโ€™t need to name anything after me,โ€ Spurrier told The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper. โ€œThey have treated me so unbelievably kind with a big picture on the stadium and so forth. I am sort of a different bird, you know that.โ€

Less than a week after resigning as coach at South Carolina, Spurrier will to go to Ann Arbor, Mich., Saturday to appear on College GameDay before Michiganโ€™s game against Michigan State.

โ€œIโ€™ve never been to Michigan, thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m doing it,โ€ he said. โ€œThe Big House, yeah. If it was somewhere I had been I would have said, โ€˜Nah.โ€™ Itโ€™s a new adventure, somewhere to go.โ€
